What is a Giclée Print?
Giclée prints look and feel like the original art.
Since giclée printmaking is digital throughout the
entire process, there is much more control of color and greater
opportunity for the artist to correct any colors or tones
lost in the copy process. Colors are much richer and more
saturated than in other types of printing. Prints are made
as needed, on real artist materials such as watercolor papers
or canvas. Since the prints are a combination of continuous
tone and stochastic screen patterns, it makes it difficult
to distinguish between giclée prints and the original
artwork. The Giclée process provides higher resolution
and more reproducible colors than other printmaking techniques.
Because each print is made as needed it saves the artist
time and you money. You get a freshly made reproduction that
will last longer and of higher quality.
